Mr. T (born Laurence Tureaud, May 21, 1952),

Mr. T (born Laurence Tureaud, May 21, 1952),

Mr. T (born Laurence Tureaud, May 21, 1952), is an American actor. He is known for his roles as B. A. Baracus in the 1980s television series The A-Team and as boxer Clubber Lang in the 1982 film Rocky III. He is also known for his distinctive hairstyle inspired by Mandinka warriors in West Africa, his copious gold jewelry, his tough-guy persona and his catchphrase "I pity the fool!", first uttered as Clubber Lang in Rocky III, then turned into a trademark used in slogans or titles, like the reality show I Pity the Fool in 2006.
Mr. T was born in Chicago, Illinois, the youngest son in a family with twelve children. After his father left, he shortened his name to Lawrence Tero. In 1970, he legally changed his last name to T. His new name, Mr. T., was based upon his childhood impressions regarding the lack of respect from white people for his family:
"I think about my father being called 'boy', my uncle being called 'boy', my brother, coming back from Vietnam and being called 'boy'. So I questioned myself: "What does a black man have to do before he's given respect as a man?" So when I was 18 years old, when I was old enough to fight and die for my country, old enough to drink, old enough to vote, I said I was old enough to be called a man. I self-ordained myself Mr. T, so the first word out of everybody's mouth is "Mr.""
Tureaud attended Dunbar Vocational High School, where he played football, wrestled, and studied martial arts. While at Dunbar he became the citywide wrestling champion two years in a row. He won a football scholarship to Prairie View A&M University, where he majored in mathematics, but was expelled after his first year.
He then enlisted in the United States Army in 1975 and served in the Military Police Corps. After his discharge in the late 1970s, he tried out for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League, but failed to make the team due to a knee injury.
Tureaud next worked as a bouncer at the Rush Street club Dingbats Discotheque. It was at this time that he created the persona of Mr. T. His wearing of gold neck chains and other jewelry was the result of customers losing the items or leaving them behind at the night club after a fight. A banned customer, or one reluctant to risk a confrontation by going back inside, could return to claim his property from Mr. T wearing it conspicuously right out front.
He eventually parlayed his job as a bouncer into a career as a bodyguard that lasted almost ten years. As his reputation grew, he was contracted to guard, among others, clothes designers, models, judges, politicians, athletes and millionaires. His clients included celebrities such as Steve McQueen, Michael Jackson, LeVar Burton, and Diana Ross, and boxers such as Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, and Leon Spinks.
While reading National Geographic, Mr. T first noticed the unusual hairstyle for which he is now famous, on a Mandinka warrior. He decided that adoption of the style would be a powerful statement about his African origin.
In 1980, Mr. T was spotted by Sylvester Stallone while taking part in NBC's "America's Toughest Bouncer" competition, a segment of NBC's Games People Play. Although his role in Rocky III was originally intended as just a few lines, Mr. T was eventually cast as Clubber Lang, the primary antagonist. His catchphrase "I pity the fool!" comes from the film; when asked if he hates Rocky, Lang replies, "No, I don't hate Balboa, but I pity the fool." He subsequently appeared in another boxing film, Penitentiary 2, and on an episode of the Canadian sketch comedy series Bizarre, where he fights and eats Super Dave Osborne, before accepting a television series role on The A-Team. He also appeared in an episode of Silver Spoons, reprising his old role as bodyguard to the character Ricky Stratton (played by Ricky Schroder). In the episode, he explains his name as "First name: Mister; middle name: period; last name T."
In The A-Team, he played Sergeant Bosco "B. A." Baracus, an ex-Army commando on the run with three other members from the United States government "for a crime they didn't commit." His role in The A-Team led to him making an appearance in the long-running sit-com Diff'rent Strokes in the sixth season opener "Mr. T and Mr. t" (1983).
Mr. T entered the world of professional wrestling in 1985. He was Hulk Hogan's tag-team partner at the World Wrestling Federation's (WWF) WrestleMania I which he won.
In 1995, he was diagnosed with a cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, or mycosis fungoides. Once in remission, he joked about the coincidence: "Can you imagine that? Cancer with my name on it - personalized cancer! " He wrote an as-yet unpublished book on this experience, called Cancer Saved My Life (Cancer Ain't For No Wimps). He made a direct reference to it as he performed a waltz to the song Amazing Grace in Dancing with the Stars.
He stopped wearing virtually all his gold, one of his identifying marks, after helping with the cleanup after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He said, "As a Christian, when I saw other people lose their lives and lose their land and property ... I felt that it would be a sin before God for me to continue wearing my gold. I felt it would be insensitive and disrespectful to the people who lost everything, so I stopped wearing my gold.

DRAKE'S INVITATION TO MICHAEL RUBIN'S HAMPTONS WHITE PARTY COMES WITH INSANE GIFT

Drake has been invited to Michael Rubin's annual 4th of July White Party, and the billionaire has made it difficult for him to say no.

In a post on his Instagram Stories on Friday (May 17), the Toronto rap star shared the extravagant invitation he received from Rubin, who is best known as the founder of Fanatics and for his association with JAY-Z, Meek Mill and other Hip Hop elites.

Drake, along with everyone else who made the guestlist for the mogul's swanky Hamptons bash, was sent a custom artwork illustrated by famed visual artist George Condo.

Condo previously designed the artwork for Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Travis Scott's "Franchise."

Taken aback by the lavish invitation, Drizzy captioned his post: "Went from 1 bedroom condo to 1 of 1 condo @michaelrubin [exploding head emoji]."

Drake's former rival Meek also received a similar illustration and posted his on social media, writing: "The invites real art!!!!!! @artistgeorgecondo."

Michael Rubin's White Party has raised eyebrows among rappers (namely 50 Cent) in recent years for his penchant for drunken hugs.

After last year's event, a picture of Rubin hugging Lil Baby from behind went viral, drawing the ridicule of the G-Unit boss.

Using it as further ammo against his longtime rival Diddy, 50 wrote next to the photo: "See this is why I don't go to no party puffy and them at. [side eye emoji] da fu*k is going on here [facepalm emoji, sulking emoji] get the fu*k off my young [ninja emoji] WTF!"

The White Party isn't Rubin's only annual spectacle.

T.I. APPLAUDS J. COLE FOR 'MATURE' APOLOGY TO KENDRICK LAMAR

T.I. has given props to J. Cole for apologizing to Kendrick Lamar after dissing him on "7 Minute Drill."

During an interview on Big Boy's Neighborhood on Thursday (May 16), the Atlanta rapper weighed in on the brief battle between K. Dot and Cole, which the latter controversially bowed out of.

"I feel he chose peace and tranquility," he said with a laugh when asked about Cole's divisive apology. "You gotta have thick skin and really be unfazed and unbothered. And we don't know the temperament or the sensitivity of Cole's dynamic. We've never seen Cole upset. We don't know where that would take him."

He added: "I think that was quite mature of him."

Check out the clip below, which begins at the 41:16 mark.

T.I.'s comments echo those of Black Thought, who also recently praised J. Cole for apologizing to Kendrick live on stage at his Dreamville Festival.

Appearing on the This Week in White Supremacy podcast earlier this month, The Roots MC said: "Though I hadn't heard any of the music, I thought it was a beautiful thing. That was what was unprecedented.

"What we've seen, time and time again since the '80s, are MCs going back and forth, like battling out. Sometimes they keep it to the record, sometimes it gets physical and it gets crazy."

He continued: "What we've yet to see is somebody nip that in the bud, right? That's what I felt like he was in effect doing. It just showed humility, nobility and a sense of elevation that you don't see too often across the board.

"When the plane's going down, you gotta situate your own oxygen mask first. He's been on a trajectory of just that, self-revelation, and investing in himself."

Tip and Thought are in the minority when it comes to their opinion, though. Cole has faced plenty of backlash and ridicule from fans and fellow rappers, including childhood hero Kanye West.

When asked about the Dreamville boss' apology in a recent sit-down with Justin Laboy, Ye snapped: "Fuck all that pussy shit. Fuck all that shit, man. Because it's like, that n-gga J. Cole went on tour with Drake. He knows what it is. It's like, n-gga, you can't run now."

Laboy then asked the Chicago rap icon if apologies are "allowed" in rap beef, to which he said: "I don't know, man. I don't listen to J. Cole so I wouldn't even know. I just heard he had a song called 'False Idols' [sic] and somebody told me it's halfway about me."

50 Cent, Suge Knight and Dame Dash have also criticized Cole for backing out of his battle with Kendrick Lamar

LIL BABY: CHAOTIC 911 CALL FROM MUSIC VIDEO SHOOTING SURFACES

Lil Baby's music video in Atlanta was marred by gunfire earlier this week, and now audio of a 911 call about the incident has surfaced online.
The recording, obtained by TMZ, captures the chaotic scene after the shooting broke out and reveals one of the three victims was struck by a bullet in the neck.

According to the outlet, the shooting was the result of an altercation between "two unknown parties" as members of Lil Baby's label Quality Control were filming the video.

Baby himself was not not involved.

The two rival groups reportedly began firing shots after tensions escalated, resulting in bystanders being wounded.

When police arrived at the scene, paramedics were already treating two of the three gunshot victims.

All three victims, who are males, are expected to make a full recovery, while police seized several vehicles from the scene of the shooting as evidence.

Listen to the audio below.

The shooting occurred on Tuesday (May 14) near a commercial strip in Atlanta where Lil Baby was filming a music video.

Atlanta police revealed shortly afterwards that three men were shot and suffered wounds to the chest, arm and neck but are expected to survive their injuries.

Police also confirmed that the injured men were not believed to have been on Lil Baby's production team and their identities are currently not publicly available.

Lil Baby has yet to comment on the incident.

The shooting came less than a year after gunfire erupted at the rapper's concert in Memphis, which left a man in critical condition.

Shots were fired inside the FedEx Forum, critically injuring one attendee - who was later confirmed to be the late Young Dolph's cousin, CEO Jizzle.

Multiple videos surfaced online showing the Memphis native in hospital, hooked up to a machine with bloody bandages on his chest and torso area. In one clip, he said he wanted people to "pray for me, but pray for the oppos 10x harder."

In another, Jizzle declared that no "fuck boy" was going to take him out and called for news outlets to stop posting him because "imma dog" and "this shit concrete," referring to his body's ability to absorb gun shots

KENDRICK LAMAR'S SIX-FIGURE STREAMING INCOME FROM DRAKE DISS SONGS REVEALED

Kendrick Lamar's feud with Drake has boosted not just his legacy, but his bank account.

The Compton rapper currently has four songs in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, with "Not Like Us" sitting atop the chart.

According to HITS Daily Double, the Mustard-produced banger has generated over $275,000 in the last week alone. The vast majority of this figure comes from the song's 58.7 million streams, while it has also earned just over $13,500 from 15,000 sales.

"Euphoria" sits at number three on the chart and has made over $210,000 in the last seven days after racking up more than 45 million streams and 7,500 sales.

Kendrick has two other entries in the top 20, including his initial Drake diss track "Like That" with Future and Metro Boomin. That song has generated almost $135,000 from nearly 30 million streams and over 3,000 sales in the last week, but that money, of course, will be shared between more parties.

"Meet the Grahams," which is number 12, has generated an additional $98,000 for K. Dot thanks to more than 20 million streams and almost 7,000 sales.

In total, Kendrick's spate of diss songs has generated over $725,000 in the last week, although it's unclear how much of that goes directly into his pocket.

For comparison, Drake's "Family Matters" and "Push Ups" has earned the 6 God over $200,000 in the last seven days.

Kendrick Lamar has seen a huge uptick in streams and sales since his feud with Drake erupted.

All of his albums currently sit on the Billboard 200 and all have enjoyed huge climbs due to an increased interest in the rapper's catalog.

DAMN. occupies highest spot at number 18, up from number 41 the week before.

good kid, m.A.A.d city, which is the longest-running Hip Hop studio album on the Billboard 200, is currently number 23 after being the 51st best-selling album last week.

Kendrick's most recent effort, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, has also enjoyed a huge climb, rising to number 55 from number 192.

To Pimp a Butterfly also reentered this week's chart at number 109 after previously falling out of the top 200.

Drake, meanwhile, continues to occupy a multitude of spots on the Billboard 200 but has seen his chart positions fall across the board.

The 6 God's current highest charting album is For All the Dogs, which sits at number 20 after occupying the number 17 spot the week before while has six other albums in charting positions but all have suffered slight slumps.

This reflects a larger trend that has seen Kendrick Lamar's streams increase while Drake's fall as fans pick a side in their feud

DRAKE & KENDRICK LAMAR BEEF SENDS 4 SONGS TO BILLBOARD TOP 10

Drake and Kendrick Lamar are both benefiting from their feud, as multiple songs spawned from the beef have now entered the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In the new chart released on Monday (May 13), K.Dot's dance-worthy diss "Not Like Us" premiered at No. 1., followed by his earlier diss "Euphoria" at No. 3 for its second week on the chart and the song that started it all, Metro Boomin and Future's "Like That," at No. 6.

And for Drizzy, his Kendrick diss "Family Matters" has entered the chart at No. 7.

Reacting to the No. 1, "Not Like Us" producer Mustard rejoiced in being back on top and declared the city of Los Angeles "back up."

"Sometimes you really gotta pop out and show n-ggas!!!!" he said. "To think . . . They really fronted on me and acted like I'm not who I am ! I'm thankful but not surprised; I never lost sight and stayed down.

"With my back against the wall is where I thrive. Summer started last week according to me!! See ya sooner than you think! cc: @kendricklamar city back up !!!"

It doesn't look like there will be anymore diss tracks dropping, however, as Drake appears to have thrown in the towel after being deemed by many to have lost the battle.

Taking to his Instagram Stories over the weekend, Drizzy posted an illustration of a Japanese samurai facing off against a huge cavalry - a nod to the "20 vs. 1" narrative he referenced on his diss song "Push Ups."

MASTER P VOWS TO BRING NBA CHAMPIONSHIP TO NEW ORLEANS IF GIVEN COACHING JOB

Master P has been known for his love of pro basketball for decades, dating back to playing in the Charlotte Hornets' training camp in early 1999 - but now he has said he's ready to bring home a championship.

While talking to TMZ recently, the No Limit boss discussed the state of his hometown team, the New Orleans Pelicans. He said that the team, who went 49-33 last season, gave him something to look forward to.

"I think we got a great team," he said. "I just think that maybe we gotta wait a couple more years."

He volunteered to help that process along, closing his interview by directly addressing the team's management.

"Y'all need to put me on the coaching staff next year [and] we gonna win the whole thing," he said.

By P's side during the interview was the next generation of basketball talent in the family, his son Mercy Miller.

Late last year, the younger Miller broke his Notre Dame High School scoring record with a 68-point game.

Notre Dame lit up Oakwood 104-44 in Sherman Oaks, California on December 11 and Miller scored more than his opponent just by himself. He even added 10 rebounds to his stat line to notch a double-double with an efficient 28 for 38 shooting performance.

"The Chosen one @kingkonginenergy @mercymiller," Master P proudly wrote to Instagram, in a post with the game's highlights.

Mercy is set to play for the University of Houston following his record-breaking high school career.

"I saw Mercy after his 10th grade season at a tournament in Houston. I was impressed with the way he made shots but also his unselfishness. Mercy is serious about his game. He wants to be the best player he can be. He comes from a family of high achievers," head coach Kevin Sampson said in a press release.

"Mercy understands what our culture is, and he wants to be a part of it. Those kids usually succeed here. We are really excited about bringing Mercy here.

DRAKE LIED ABOUT GIVING KENDRICK LAMAR FALSE INFO, AKADEMIKS SUGGESTS

Drake was lying about feeding Kendrick Lamar and his team false information - at least that's the picture being painted by Akademiks, anyway.

Speaking on his Rumble channel over the weekend, Ak - who has been in regular contact with Drizzy throughout his feud with Kendrick and even premiered numerous diss songs - appeared to turn on the 6 God by sharing some insider information.

The media personality said of the artwork for K. Dot's "Meet the Grahams," which featured several items allegedly belonging to Drake including Ozempic pills: "I think Drake knew these things were stolen. It does look like some stolen shit."

"Drake did know that they were stolen so I don't know if he's trying to reverse psychology it. When Drake said he set it up, I'm taking that to be the 11-year-old daughter thing," he continued, referencing Kendrick's claim that the Toronto native secretly fathered a daughter.

"Because from everybody I've talked to including Drake, we can't even see where this came from and Kendrick said it so definitively in what was supposed to be his biggest song. That was supposed to be the biggest expos ."

Drake claimed to have fed Kendrick fake information on his diss song "Family Matters," rapping: "We plotted for a week, and then we fed you the information/ A daughter that's 11 years old, I bet he takes it/ We thought about givin' a fake name or a destination/ But you so thirsty, you not concerned with investigation.

"Instead you in that Venice studio, it's a celebration/ You gotta learn to fact-check things and be less impatient/ Your/ fans are rejoicin', thinkin' this is my expiration/ Even the picture you used, the jokes and the medication/ The Maybach glove and the drug he use is for less inflation/ Master manipulator, you bit on the speculation."

Akademiks also said both rappers told lies about each other in their respective diss tracks.

"I think both of these guys put their fair share of lies in there too in the battle. Drake doesn't have a kid, Kendrick lied. Kendrick's kid isn't Dave Free's, Drake lied. So there's lies all in this."

Drake appears to have thrown in the towel after being deemed by many to have lost the battle.

Taking to his Instagram Stories over the weekend, Drizzy posted an illustration of a Japanese samurai facing off against a huge cavalry - a nod to the "20 vs. 1" narrative he referenced on his diss song "Push Ups."

CUBA GOODING JR. BREAKS SILENCE ON LIL ROD'S 'GROPING' CLAIMS IN DIDDY LAWSUIT

Cuba Gooding Jr. was named in a lawsuit filed against Diddy (real name Sean Combs) earlier this year, and he has now addressed the allegations made about him.

In late February, a producer named Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones (who worked on The Love Album: Off the Grid) accused the Bad Boy Records boss of sexual harassment as well as drugging and threatening him over the course of a year. Approximately a month later, he added the 56-year-old actor to the ongoing case as a defendant.

Per court documents obtained by HipHopDX, the plaintiff claims that he feared Combs would "groom him to pass him off to his friends" - this apparently came true when the mogul introduced him to the Jerry McGuire star, who allegedly "began touching, groping, and fondling Mr. Jones' legs, his upper inner thighs near his groin, the small of his back near his buttocks, and his shoulders."

Alongside an image of the alleged encounter, the filing adds: "He rejected his advances and Mr. Gooding Jr. did not stop until Mr. Jones forcibly pushed him away."

During an interview on the PBD Podcast that was published on Wednesday (May 8), the Hollywood veteran shared his thoughts on the ordeal as well as his recent inclusion in it.

"I think whatever [Diddy's] dealing with, he's on his journey, man," he began. "I think that God has got him on a path where- I can't imagine that he's stupid enough to do whatever he's doing and keep it on his premises. I think that the raid and all of that stuff, only time will tell - who was involved, who had been a frequent guest in these places and areas.

"It's funny because my lawyers said, y'know, 'Every outlet in the world wants to talk to you,' and again, I'm like, 'I'm not defining myself from some headline in the press,' so I stay quiet."

The Bronx native then said that the image being used against him as evidence has been positioned to fit a false narrative, because he was just listening to a new song by the businessman and not trying to impose himself on Rod.

"That picture - everyone in the room; there's probably 300 of us on the deck of P. Diddy's boat on New Year's Eve," he added. "This guy who's suing him [is] going after the money, man. I'm sure, and by the way, I don't know P. Diddy's life. I don't know what he's going through [...] We were acquaintances, just like I just showed you. Two-three times I've seen him."

Diddy has vehemently denied all claims, with his lawyer Shawn Holley sharing a statement with HipHopDX to shut down the allegations.

"Lil Rod is nothing more than a liar who filed a $30million lawsuit shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday," she wrote. "His reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not happen is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines.

"We have overwhelming, indisputable proof that his claims are complete lies. Our attempts to share this proof with [Lil Rod]'s attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, have been ignored, as Mr. Blackburn refuses to return our calls."

She concluded: "We will address these outlandish allegations in court and take all appropriate action against those who make them.
