The boss man made his big announcement from his car as he explained why the decision had to be made.

"This is a decision I didn't want to make. I thought about it, I could keep all them under the contract," he said. But I said, hey, f**k it. Let's just make the unselfish decision and, you know, let them take their talents elsewhere."

He went on to explain that all artists and their legal representatives had been told prior to his social media PSA. He also revealed that he'll be putting all of his attention towards Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano while remaining open to finding new talent.

"...That's where imma put my focus. And I just wish them the best and I just want to let everybody know that cause hey that's where we're at," he said.

1017 artists have run into loads of legal battles in recent years which may have impacted the label's ability to properly push both them and their music. The label also sustained huge losses by way of death with artists like Enchanting and Big Scarr passing away before their careers properly took off.  However, a few of them took to social media to share their reaction to the news.

"Aye man, this is what I wanted. I ain't tripping, I been talking bout this sh*t the last, past two, three days. I don't give a flying f**k," said former 1017 artist Lil Jay. "N****s know what to do before the truth come out, n****s know."

Rapper and former 1017 artist BigWalkDog posted a less veiled and contentious response to his Instagram stories saying,

"That was a business move for Wop on his behalf. What make you think I'm suppose to lose after that? I'm already here."

Currently, Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano are both serving five-year prison sentences related to charges of gun conspiracy, removing an ankle monitor, and possession of a gun as a felon, respectively. Also, artists Hotboy Wes and Hoodrich Pablo Juan were each sentenced to 15 years in prison related to separate cases. Gucci Mane may have his work cut out for him to reverse the curse on his 1017 label.
